Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Christie Wamsley #2195 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Consistent Pace and a Strong Finish Christie Wamsley from Colonial Heights, VA left her mark on the 2026 Glacier Half Marathon. At age 73, she completed the 13.1 miles in 3:20:42, with an impressive pace of 15:19 min/mile. Throughout the race, Christie maintained faith in herself with consistent splits and placed 5th in the F70-74 division. Her journey saw her start strong, clocking the first mile at 15:25, and beautifully closed the race averaging better than or near her overall pace during the final straight, with mile 13 paced at 13:34. Christie showed fantastic grit and determination. Although there were few slower miles, like mile 3 at 21:22, she picked up the pace again with a standout mile 6 time of 11:04. The boosts in pace at miles 6, 7, and especially 8, with an 11:55 split, highlight her ability to maintain steady energy. Keeping that momentum will be key for even stronger finishes in future races.
