Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Sarah Stratman #2105 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Resilient Return to Strong Finishes Sarah Stratman out there, striding through the 2026 Vacation Races | Glacier Half with an overall time of 2:52:39. Each mile was like a chapter in a novel, starting at a 13:32 min/mile pace. But wait for it, she picked up the pace in the latter half, clocking a zesty 9:59 min/mile pace by mile seven. Now, those diverse splits show a runner with determination, not backing down from any mile marker. She placed 34th in her division, the F45-49, against a bustling field of participants. One particularly delightful aspect was the way Sarah ramped up toward the end. Here's a suggestion: consistency is key. She found her fastest stride as the race proceeded; trying to bring that mid-race pace to the early miles could be like adding a cherry on top of this delightful race sundae. Can't wait to see her out there again, inspiring that course with those strides!
