Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Kaitlynn Morefield #1794 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Consistent Progress, Strong Finish! Kaitlynn Morefield, from Columbus, OH, showed a fine level of consistency during the 2026 Glacier Half Marathon, completing the race in a total time of 2:06:44. Kaitlynn maintained an overall pace of 9:40 min/mile over the 13.1-mile course, which is quite commendable, given that she finished in 180th place out of 1505 participants. Throughout the race, Kaitlynn demonstrated growth in performance, starting with a 10:02 min/mile pace in the first mile and ending strongly with an 8:13 min/mile pace in the final mile. There's a noticeable improvement in her pace after mid-point, from 10:44 min/mile in the fifth mile to a faster 9:41 min/mile by the 13th mile. While the early splits indicate a slower start, the last three miles showed a more aggressive pace with mile 13 being the quickest. Kaitlynn's ability to finish strong exemplifies her endurance and strategic pacing. Keep up the fantastic work, Kaitlynn!
