Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Cindy Kirkland #1616 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Pacing Like a Pro: Consistent Motivation Shines Bright Cindy Kirkland from Sullivan's Island, SC, demonstrated fantastic resilience in the 2026 Vacation Races Glacier Half Marathon. Her journey revealed moments of brilliance, particularly in the first two miles, clocking paces of 14:18 and 13:39 per mile. These early strides set a strong foundation. While her pace varied, Cindy maintained her drive, notching her fastest mile in the final stretch with a 13:09 min/mile. Thats a mighty impressive kick to the finish! As Cindy competed in the female 60-64 category, she secured 26th in her division and held strong in the overall gender standings. Her overall pace was 16:30 min/mile, covering the 13.1 miles with determination. Some miles, like the fifth, might have felt more uphill both ways, clocking 27:38 min/mile. But she picked up the pace again toward the end. Keeping that early consistency throughout can be an exciting opportunity for future races! Keep on shining, Cindy!
