Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Jess Roi #1974 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Jess's Pace Perks Up for a Strong Finish Jess from Redding, CA, showcased determination across the 13.1-mile Glacier Half Marathon. Starting with a solid 10:19 min/mile in the first mile, she held her own with early rankings at 17th in her division. Her journey featured varied pacing. There was a notable shift in mile six, a swift 8:57 pace that catapulted her 15 places up in the overall standingsshowing shes got some pep in those steps! Towards the race's tail end, Jess's finishing kick was impressive, with the final mile clocking in at 9:46 min/mile. Overall, she crossed the line at 2:27:18, an 11:14 average pace. Amongst her division of F30-34, Jess held 44th place, proving consistency is key. Kudos, Jess, for powering through and finishing strong! Let's focus on maintaining that fantastic midpoint pace throughout the race next time. Keep that smile up and those feet moving!
