Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Steady Improvement and Strong Finish Kjersten Stromberg of Grove City, Ohio, demonstrated resilience and strategic pacing in the 2026 Vacation Races | Glacier Half Marathon. Starting with a 12:45 pace on the first mile, she gradually sped up, marking her fastest split at mile six with an impressive 9:13 minute/mile pace. Notably, her mile ten pace of 11:01 reflected well on her strategy to speed up mid-race, demonstrating strong optimization of energy. Kjersten maintained a consistent improvement in her split times, especially from mile six onwards, showing progressive adaptation and endurance. Her final finish time was 2:28:52, placing 49th in her division among a field of 1,505 participants. Looking at placement data, her overall improvement was steady, moving from 593rd to 482nd. Continued focus on accelerating earlier could further enhance her results. Keep building on that strong finish, Kjersten, and aim to carry that speed through the first miles!
