Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Kicking Pace and Positions while Running the Long Game! Benjamin Khuong from Anaheim, California, showcased a strategic performance at the 2026 Vacation Races | Glacier Half. Cutting through the course with an overall pace of 7:39 min/mile, Benjamin held his ground among 1505 participants, clinching an impressive 3rd in his division, M30-34. Notably, he started with a steady 8:02 min/mile on the first mile, before picking up speed with some noteworthy splits below 7:00 min/mile in the later stages, particularly with a zippy 6:24 min/mile on mile 13. Maintaining a consistently competitive position, Benjamin demonstrated excellent pacing and resilience in the latter half of the race. His finish time of 1:40:21 only tells part of the storyhe deftly improved his tempo from the midpoint onwards. Keeping those faster split times steady like he did in the final miles can be a focus ahead to break into even higher standings next time. Well done, Benjamin, on a smashing run!
