Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Ramona Lauterbach #1655 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Ramona's Steady Stride Surprises with Split Strategy Ramona Lauterbach, out of Cypress, Texas, completed the 2026 Vacation Races | Glacier Half Marathon with notable consistency. She began her journey with a strong initial mile paced at 16:30 min/mile. The magic happened between miles 6 and 8, where her performance demonstrated increased vigor with splits at 13:32 and 14:03 min/mile, respectivelythe fastest pace of her race. While the average pace settled at 17:31 min/mile, Ramona showcased determination, regaining momentum in the latter part of the race. Despite facing a challenging third mile with a 22:28 split pace, she exhibited the heart of a lion, picking up the pace in subsequent miles. Staying consistent like a hometown hero is what keeps runners pushing forward. Moving forward, focusing on maintaining that late-race acceleration earlier could turn those solid splits into exceptional ones!
