Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: James Phelps #1889 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

James Shows True Grit in Steady Pace Improvement! James, hailing from Houston, Texas, demonstrated remarkable consistency and resilience in the 2026 Vacation Races | Glacier Half. Starting with a 15:50 min/mile pace, he displayed steady improvement as the race progressed. Although splits in the middle were undeniably tough, especially with a 24:44 min/mile at mile three, he showed his tenacity. In the latter stages, he surged with impressive splits like 11:26 min/mile at mile nine. His overall time was 3:16:20, crafting a pace average of 14:59 min/mile. James claimed 18th place in his M60-64 division, an achievement he should be mighty proud of. It's like building a house; each piece is important.
