Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Jared Lai #1644 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Jared's Pace Proves Persistence Pays Off in Glacier Half! Jared from Burlingame, CA participated in the 2026 Vacation Races | Glacier Half and demonstrated remarkable consistency and perseverance throughout his race. He completed the 13.1 miles with an overall time of 2:01:30. What's really striking is his pacing strategy, which averaged at 9:16 min/mileway to keep that rhythm, Jared! In the mid-section of the race, Jared faced some challenges, with some of his splits pushing past the 11-minute mark, particularly between miles 4 and 5. However, he rallied back with strength, shaving off precious seconds each mile, and impressively clocking under 8 minutes in his last miles. Jared's split times of 7:55, 7:41, and 8:10 during miles 8 to 10 indicate a strong finishing kick. If he refines his pacing strategy in the early miles, Jared could really shine even brighter in his next race!
