Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Raymond Norris #1834 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Swift Footwork and Impressive Comeback Raymond Norris ran the 2026 Vacation Races | Glacier Half Marathon like a sunnier version of a Rocky montage. He began with consistent ease, clocking his first mile at 7:22 and followed up with a wonderful 7:11 in the second mile. Despite a bit of a downturn with splits of 8:24 and 8:52 in the third and fourth miles, Raymond maintained solid form, eventually claiming the top spot in his division for several segments. The real magic happened in the second half of his race. Kicking it into turbo, Raymond posted a blistering fastest split of 5:24 in mile nine. He followed this up with an equally impressive closing kick, finishing his race with 6:00 for his final mile. With an outstanding overall pace of 6:51 per mile, Raymond completed his half marathon in 1:29:44, placing 5th in his division. Raymond, buddy, you got the grit and the speed!
