Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Kelly Chin #1287 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Steady Start, Swift Finish! Kelly Chin from Millbrae, CA, ran the 2026 Vacation Races | Glacier Half with a smart strategy. Starting strong at a 9:31 min/mile pace, Kelly gradually increased her pace, dipping down to an impressive 8:31 min/mile for the final mile! Throughout the race, her placement remained strong, finishing 7th in her division (F30-34) out of 7 participants. Kelly's time of 2:02:19 further highlights her consistent performance with an overall average pace of 9:20 min/mile. One of the standout performances appeared in mile 6 with a swift 8:01 min/mile split, reflecting her resilience and ability to push through the mid-race challenges. Although there were slight decreases in pace around the third and fifth miles, Kelly rallied in the latter miles, showing her to be a persistent and strong finisher.
