Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Devin Clancy #1300 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Master Class in Marathon Wiles Devin Clancy from Asheville, NC, certainly made waves in the Glacier Half. Kicking off with a steady 7:46 min/mile pace, he soon showed his true stripes. His pacing strategy was smart, finishing the event with an impressive average pace of 6:59 min/mile. Devin's standout performances came at Miles 7, 8, and 9, where he clocked paces of 6:11, 6:10, and 5:56 min/mile, respectively. Those splits weren't just fast, they were a barn burner! While maintaining a steady placement throughout, Devin consistently held the top spot in his Master's division. His final time of 1:31:33 landed him in the top ten overalla testament to his grit and determination. Although he slipped slightly in overall and gender order in the second half of the race, the acceleration in the latter miles speaks volumes. A small nudge might be in maintaining that blazing pace from miles 9 and 10 throughout! Keep that momentum rolling!
