Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Michael Ripley #1958 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Kicking It with Consistency and a Strong Finish Michael Ripley, fresh out of Denver, showed up in full force for the 2026 Glacier Half Marathon. Over the 13.1 miles, Michael maintained a rock-solid pace, finishing with an impressive 7:08 min/mile. Consistency is no small feat, especially when balancing different split paces, but Michael handled it like a pro. Notably, he crowned his age division with a first-place finish, bagging some well-deserved accolades for his efforts. Looking at those split times, Michael had quite the efficient rhythm, with later splits speeding up remarkably. From a reassuring start at 7:46, he sped things up, surprising us all by closing a solid negative split with an even 6:12 in mile 13. Improvements can come in form and pacing early on, but heck, seeing that late burst is like watching a good ol fast-talking soccer play come together. Keep that fire, Michael, and youre bound for more podium finishes!
