Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Bryan Luong #1689 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

A Well-Paced Finish and Determined Comeback! Bryan Luong from Irvine, CA, showcased determination in the 2026 Vacation Races | Glacier Half Marathon, completing the 13.1-mile course in an elapsed time of 2:26:34 with an overall pace of 11:11 min/mile. Bryan strategically started strong with a consistent 11:05 pace for the first mile. There was a noticeable drop around the third mile, facing a challenging split pace of 14:43 min/mile. Despite this temporary setback, Bryan didn't let it faze him. He bounced back remarkably, hitting a striking 9:07 min/mile in mile six. Brilliant recovery! By mile eight, Bryan found his stride, clocking a split pace of 8:52 min/mile. The ability to pick up the pace and gradually improve his position from mile six onwards to complete the race strong is impressive. Overall, Bryan placed 449th out of 1505 participants, securing the 48th spot in the M30-34 division. Great comeback heart and pace, Bryan! Keep that rhythm!
