Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Elaina Biechler #1189 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Elaina's Electrifying Effort: A Steady Climb and a Strong Finish! Elaina Biechler from Dubuque, IA, showcased an impressive performance in the 2026 Vacation Races | Glacier Half Marathon. With a final time of 1:34:47, Elaina maintained an average pace of 7:14 min/mile over 13.1 miles, finishing 12th overall and an outstanding 3rd in both gender and division categories. Starting strong with an initial split of 8:08 for the first mile, Elaina found her stride and improved progressively, finishing the 13th mile with an impressive split of 6:24. Throughout the race, Elaina demonstrated consistency and determination. Her pacing was particularly remarkable in the later miles, with several sub-7:00 minute miles. Splits 6 and 13 displayed significant bursts of speed, clocking in at 6:35 and 6:24, respectively. Staying in the top 5 among female participants for the majority of the race, Elaina proved her mettle, and with a little tuning in those mid-race miles, theres potential for even better results!
