Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Cynthia Barajas #1164 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Consistency Finds Its Stride Cynthia Barajas tackled the 2026 Vacation Races Glacier Half Marathon with an unyielding spirit. Her overall finish time was 2:59:13, boasting an average pace of 13:40 min/mile over the 13.1-mile distance. Cynthia showed a steady start with her 1-mile split at 14:14 and notably improved her pace significantly after the 5-mile mark. Her 6th-mile split marked an impressive comeback with a time of 11:01, the fastest of her race, reinforcing that she can gain momentum in the latter parts of her races. With placements of 813 overall, 510th among female participants, and 86th in her division, Cynthia maintained consistent pacing. A notable area to cheer on could be maintaining energy in the latter part of the race while staying consistent with that speedy 6th mile. Each race is like a beautiful painting, and we can certainly tell she painted with determination and resilience. Keep challenging that comfort zone, Cynthia!
