Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Claire Swafford #2114 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Consistent Effort with a Speedy Finish Claire Swafford delivered a commendable performance in the 2026 Vacation Races | Glacier Half Marathon, finishing with a time of 1:36:32, maintaining an average pace of 7:22 min/mile. She showed great consistency early on, holding steady within strong placements, consistently ranking 5th in both gender and division categories for the first half of the race. A key highlight was Claire's outstanding ability to accelerate over the latter portions; in mile 9, she sped up with a split pace of 5:55 min/mile, clinching the 2nd place spot in her gender category. With an overall 14th place finish among 1505 participants, Claires performance was both steady and strategic. Despite a brief slowdown at mile 11 with a 9:05 min/mile pace, she quickly regained momentum, finishing strong with a split pace of 6:38 min/mile in the final mile.
