Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Sam Sermersheim #2046 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Steady Pacing with a Strong Finish Well, if Sam Sermersheim's performance at the 2026 Glacier Half were a movie, it'd be a sports drama with some thrilling twists. Sam kicked things off at a confident pace of 8:07 for the first mile, maintaining a top spot in his division right from the get-go. What's really impressive is his consistent improvement in speed, hitting the 9th mile with an impressive 6:26 pace. Now, that's what I call stepping it up, right? Throughout the race, Sam held a solid position in the competitive M20-24 division and ultimately finished first in the division. This outstanding result is indicated by his overall pace of 7:33 min/mile and the total time of 1:38:59. In the broader scope, Sam secured 18th in a field of 1505, and thats nothing short of fantastic. Focusing on sustaining that momentum through mid-race next time could add an even sharper edge to future performances. Keep up that grit and determination, Sam!
