Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Taylor Nead #1820 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Strong Finish with Fast Splits Taylor Nead from Coronado, CA put on a commendable performance at the 2026 Vacation Races | Glacier Half Marathon. Maintaining consistency, Taylor clocked a final time of 1:42:26, averaging a pace of 7:49 min/mile. He excelled in the M30-34 division landing in 4th place out of numerous athletes. Notably, his performance shone in split 9 with a speedy 6:38 min/mile pace, showcasing his determination and strong finishing capability. The race featured some strategic pacing, especially between miles 1 and 2 where he shaved 28 seconds off his pace. Despite a slight slowdown in the latter miles, Taylor managed to rebound with a fantastic 7:16 min/mile in mile 13. Encouragingly, a touch more consistency in the middle miles could provide an edge in future races. Overall, Taylors enthusiasm and effort placed him in the top tier of participants, solidifying a memorable experience. Keep that spirit up, Taylor!
