Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Donovan Aimsback #1130 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Consistent Canter with a Lifted Finish Donovan Aimsback maintained a steady pace throughout the race, kicking off with a brisk 7:39 minute mile and improving throughout the course. At the 6-mile mark, he showed a notable quick burst, clocking a 6:01 minute mile, balancing endurance with explosive speed. His ability to remain within the top positions is commendable, landing a third-place division finish. By mile 9, Donovan demonstrated his mettle with a swift pace of 5:54 minutes per mile, and his final mile was an impressive 6:04. Not only did he secure a strong finish time of 1:29:48, but he also finished first in his age division of M15-19. With strategic pacing and bursts of speed, Donovan crafted a well-rounded performance. For future races, cementing his early pace can keep him competitive throughout.
