Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Benjamin Brubaker Exner #2480 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Strong Finish with a Swift Comeback Benjamin started his half marathon journey with a steady initial pace of 7:51 min/mile. He demonstrated impressive consistency in his early splits, maintaining a similar tempo through the first few miles. However, around mile 3, his pace briefly dropped to 9:01 min/mile. Rather than letting that slow him down, Benjamin channeled his inner Jamie Tartt and picked up the pace significantly. By mile 6, he clocked in an impressive split of 6:08 min/mile. This was his fastest split and a key moment in his performance, showing great resilience. His recovery led to a strong finish, evidenced by his overall time of 1:38:55 and a commendable elapsed pace of 7:33 min/mile. For his age groupM35-39Benjamin landed a solid second-place finish.
