Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Kaela Hyde #2494 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Kaela Kicks It Into High Gear! Kaela Hyde from Virginia Beach demonstrated impressive pacing over the 2026 Vacation Races Glacier Half Marathon. She completed the 13.1-mile event in 2:16:54, locking in a pace of 10:27 per mile. Notably, Kaela placed 26th in her F30-34 division, out of 50 contenders. And hey, let's not forget, she finished 144th out of all 564 female participantsway to go, Kaela! A positive highlight was her performance during the latter half of the race, where she picked up the pace by clocking 8:49 min/mile for splits at miles 8 and 9. While she demonstrated great resilience with progressively faster splits in the middle section of the race, she could further focus on maintaining that speed through the final stretch. Overall, a fantastic effort and a tale of grit and determination on display. Keep the momentum going, Kaela!
