Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Joseph Lombardi #2397 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Speeding through Glacier: A Strong Finish! Joseph had quite the rollercoaster ride in the 2026 Glacier Half Marathon. He started strong with a first-mile pace of 8:06, steadily improving initial consistency up until mile 5. After a brief slower segmentfrom mile 4 to mile 5 with paces of 9:35 and 9:25 respectivelyhe showcased a striking turnaround. Joseph shifted gears impressively in mile 6 to notch a split time of 6:12, marking a thrilling start to his negative splits. Charging forward, Joseph picked up the pace dramatically, reaching a fastest split of 5:39 in mile 9. Ultimately, he completed the 13.1-mile race with a spirited time of 1:36:49, achieving a commendable 2nd place in his division, M30-34. His balanced finish provided consistency, with the final three miles maintaining sub-7:30 paces. Joseph's performance demonstrated both stamina and strategic accelerationcharacteristics he can continue to build upon in future endeavors.
