Starting strong, his first split was recorded at 6:45, while later miles varied slightly, between 7:03 and 8:44. Noteworthy are miles 6 and 8 with strong splits at 6:52 and 6:47 respectively. In a field of 802 participants, Gabe finished 14th overall and 13th among males. Throughout the race, his pace fluctuated, particularly slowing in miles 12 and 13, but he consistently led in his division.
