Consistent Performance with Strong Mid-Race Splits Sonya Wallace completed the 2026 Vacation Races | Yosemite half marathon in 2:45:32, covering 13.1 miles. Her overall average pace was 12:38 min/mile. Notably consistent through the race, Sonya showed marked improvements in her middle splits. At mile 4, she recorded her fastest split of 10:58 min/mile, maintaining a good rhythm through to mile 9 with a 10:51 pace. Her positioning saw a positive trend, with improvements in the overall and division ranks up to mile 9. Sonya was able to hold strong ranks, never slipping beyond third in her division, consistently staying between 55th and 63rd in F45-49. However, there was a noted slowdown in the latter stages, with extended split times at miles 11 and 12 at over 15 minutes per mile. Steady pacing and strategic focus on the later miles could help improve her future race performance. Nonetheless, Sonya showed commendable consistency and perseverance throughout.
