Steady Improvement and a Strong Finish Nancy's half marathon performance began with an initial pace of 10:03 min/mile in the first mile, which shifted to slightly slower splits close to the 11-minute mark over the next few miles. An interesting point occurred between miles 5 and 6, where she improved her pace consistently, hitting a 9:27 min/mile pace by the 6th mile. This marked a significant improvement in her position, notably rising from 880th to 791st in her gender category. In the latter half of the race, Nancy maintained a nimble pace, achieving her fastest split at mile 12 with a time of 7:46 min/mile, showcasing her strong finishing ability. While her split at mile 13 slowed to 15:26 min/mile, her overall finish time was 2:17:45 at a pace of 10:30 min/mile. She placed 74th in her division, demonstrating a solid balance of endurance and acceleration in the half marathon.
