Consistent Start with a Strong Surge Mid-Race Karen maintained a consistent pace during the initial stage of the race, with her first three miles showing average pace times around 10:31 to 10:41 minutes per mile. Notably, her fourth and fifth-mile splits were faster at 9:45 and 9:54 minutes per mile, with her position improving significantly to 688 and 695 in her gender category. Mid-race adjustments paid off, as seen in mile nine, where Karen achieved her fastest split pace of 8:50 minutes per mile. Despite a slowdown towards the end, indicated by a split of 15:04 minutes per mile at mile 12, she concluded with an overall time of 2:22:25. A focus on maintaining consistent pacing in later stages could be beneficial for future races, but overall, the ability to pick up speed mid-race is commendable.
