Consistent Start with Opportunities in Mid-race Steven started the half marathon with a strong opening mile split at 9:13 min/mile, maintaining a good pace through the first half of the race. His pacing for the first 5 miles was consistent, holding under a 10:00 min/mile pace. This strong start saw him remain in the top third of participants within his age division during the initial splits. Mid-race pacing began to show signs of fatigue, with mile 6 slowing to a 10:42 pace and mile 8 further decreasing to 11:55 min/mile. The second half of the race displayed a gradual decrease in pace, evidenced by a final average pace of 10:57 min/mile. By the end, Steven finished 777th in his gender category out of 1435 male participants. Focusing on maintaining pace in the middle sections could lead to improved overall results in future races.
