While the split pace slightly slowed to 6:58 on the third mile, possibly due to the course's elevation challenge at mile 2.2 to 2.7, he quickly rebounded, regaining speed with a notable 5:58 in the sixth mile. He preserved his position well throughout the event, finishing 10th overall and 3rd in his age division. Particularly impressive was his improvement in position in the latter half, particularly during miles six through eight, holding a steady pace of 6:23 min/mile.
