Consistent Pacing with a Strong Finish Maria Carrington displayed steady pacing throughout the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K. Her performance started with a 10:30 min/mile pace. By the 2-mile mark, her pace slightly adjusted to 10:38 min/mile. She tackled the Hayes Hill segment maintaining a commendable approach, resulting in a slower 3rd mile split of 12:24, as expected due to the hill's incline, but recovered well beyond it. Maria's resilience was evident in her consistent recovery post-Hayes Hill, improving to a 10:50 min/mile pace by Mile 6. She maintained momentum, finishing with a final elapsed time of 1:22:18 and an average pace of 11:02 min/mile over the 7.45-mile course. Notable improvements in pacing over the last mile reflected in her stable placement in the top third of her gender and division categories.
