Consistent Pacing with Late Surge Steven maintained a consistent pace in the early miles, hitting the first mile at 7:05 and staying just slightly off that pace over the next two miles. Notably, his time increased during the stretch ending around mile 3 as Hayes Hill approached, but he quickly rebounded with an 8:02 split, showing a great deal of focus and resilience on the climb. He climbed back to a faster split of 7:12 and progressively improved to 6:54 and 6:26 during the middle sections of the course. The race concluded with a strong finish at a speedy 6:21 pace in the final split, showcasing strategic pacing. This strong finish contributed to his overall time of 51:56, achieving a 7.45-mile course with an admirable average pace of 6:58 min/mile. Maintaining or enhancing this closing strength and consistent middle section splits could further enhance performance in future events.
