Consistent Effort with Elevation Adjustments Alexander displayed a solid and consistent performance throughout the "2026 Bay to Breakers" 12K event. The race commenced with steady pacing, featuring a time of 12:01 for the first mile. Notably, around the third mile where Hayes Hill is located, there was a pace adjustment to 13:36, which is expected given the elevation challenge. Subsequently, Alexander regained speed, achieving a strong mile split at 10:40 between miles 5 and 6. His overall time of 1:29:01, with an average pace of 11:56 min/mile, positioned him 3360th in the male category and 1109th in the M30-39 division. Despite fluctuations early in the race, there was impressive stabilizing towards the end, indicating efficient energy management. For future races, maintaining or even decreasing the gap between the split times during elevation gains could potentially improve overall timing. The steady comeback in the final miles showcases potential for furthering sprint finishes.
