Consistent Effort with Strategic Finish Anne Metzler maintained a stable performance throughout the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K event with a final time of 1:34:26, managing an overall pace of 12:40 min/mile. Noteworthy is her strong finish in the final mile, clocking in at 11:35 min/mile, her fastest split of the day. Her determination allowed for a significant improvement in her overall placement, moving up to 5488th from an earlier positioning. Her journey through the race showed consistency, with minor variations in pace. The most challenging split appeared to be the third mile, taking 16:11 with Hayes Hill's incline possibly contributing. Despite this, Anne managed to recover her pace effectively in subsequent miles. Remaining steady in her category, she placed 487th in the F40-49 division. Annes race strategy balanced both endurance and speed, particularly evident in her strong push in the latter stages. Continued focus on hill workouts could further enhance her performance in future events.
