Strong Finish in Competitive Field Eric Chen demonstrated impressive stamina and speed in the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K race with an overall time of 42:10, achieving an average pace of 5:39 min/mile. He secured 19th place overall and 18th in the male category, while finishing 6th in his M20-29 division, amidst a field of 24,386 participants. Eric showed a consistent start with a 5:43 min/mile pace in the first mile. Despite the steep Hayes Hill section between miles 2 and 3, where his split pace dipped slightly to 6:03 min/mile, he skillfully regained momentum. Notably, he ran his fastest mile between the 5th and 6th miles at a 5:22 split pace. His strong finish maintained his standing as 6th in his division. Continuing to build on his strength during inclines might provide even better results in future races.
