Maintained Consistency While Tackling Tough Terrain James Wang, representing Team Beyond the Limit, delivered a consistent performance at the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K race. Starting strong, he maintained an even pace of 16:39 min/mile for the first two miles. Hayes Hill, beginning at 2.2 miles and ending at 2.7 miles, presented a challenge where James's pace increased slightly to 21:20 min/mile at mile 3. Although his pace slowed during the mid-section of the race, he showed resilience and finished the event at 2:18:00 with an average pace of 18:31 min/mile. Notably, James improved his pace in the final stretch, clocking in his fastest split at 12:41 min/mile for mile 7. He completed 7.45 miles and placed 341st in the M19 & Under division. Revisiting pacing strategies for inclines like Hayes Hill could refine his future performances.
