Steady Race Progression with Strategic Pacing Janaki Lahorani demonstrated consistent pacing throughout the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K, highlighting her strategic approach in a field of 24,386 runners. She completed the race with an overall time of 1:25:41, achieving an average pace of 11:30 min/mile. Notably, during the tough segment from miles 2 to 3, which included a steep portion, she managed a split pace of 13:30 min/mile. However, she impressively regained momentum, clocking her fastest mile between miles 5 and 6 at 10:12 min/mile. Janaki's performance showed steady progress in the placement within her division F50-59, moving from 126th to 96th by the sixth mile. Improvement in pace particularly after challenging segments demonstrates resilience and effective energy management. Continuing to enhance endurance and speed in the latter miles could further improve her race results.
