Consistent Pacing with Impressive Finish Splits Jason Zhang maintained a consistent start in the 2026 Bay to Breakers 15K, holding a steady pace of 11:36 min/mile for the first two miles. The steep incline on Hayes Hill, starting at 2.2 miles, impacted his 3rd mile, with a noticeable slowdown to a 15:40 min/mile pace. Despite this, Jason quickly regained momentum and progressively improved his pace post-Hill, with significant reductions to 12:13 and down to 11:11 min/mile by the 6th mile. The latter part of the race showed Jason's strong finish, as he recorded a noteworthy 9:18 min/mile for the final mile. His overall timing of 1:45:54, with an average pace of 11:29 min/mile, placed him at 348th in his division out of 4080 total participants. While his middle splits could be slightly refined, Jason's ability to accelerate towards the end is commendable and a key strength to build upon for future races.
