Consistent Effort with Strong Finish Beckman Hart maintained a steady pace through most of the "2026 Bay to Breakers" 12K race. Starting off with an initial mile pace of 21:55, Hart mirrored this pace for the second mile. Notably, during the third mile, which includes the challenging Hayes Hill section, there was a pace drop to 27:45 min/mile. Despite this, he improved his position overall, moving from 15,107 to 11,908. In the later stages, particularly after mile 5, Hart picked up the pace significantly. The sixth mile was completed at 10:18 min/mile, which was a dramatic improvement and allowed him to jump up in placement significantly. Hart ultimately finished the race with an overall pace of 19:59 min/mile, overtaking more crowded positions throughout, concluding in 14,629th place out of 24,386 participants. While his early splits were slow, particularly over the hill, his late stage acceleration was impressive.
