Steady Start, Strong Finish Steve Gardea competed in the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K, finishing with an overall time of 2:16:17 and an average pace of 18:17 min/mile. His performance placed him 13220th overall among 24,386 participants. Steve showed impressive consistency in the first two miles with an even split pace of 15:01 min/mile. During the ascent of Hayes Hill from miles 2.2 to 2.7, the pace understandably slowed to 28:55 min/mile, resulting in a position adjustment. In the later miles, Steve displayed signs of recovery and endurance. Notably, he improved his pace significantly in the final two miles, clocking a 13:37 min/mile and 11:31 min/mile respectively. This improvement highlights his strong finish, where he gained positions and improved his division placing back to 765.
