Steady Improvement and Resilience on the Course Coral Wiley demonstrated a consistent performance throughout the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K event. Starting with an initial pace of 19:23 min/mile, Coral maintained this pace up to the 2-mile mark, showing determination early on. Notably, around Hayes Hill, from 2.2 to 2.7 miles, she significantly improved her pace, dropping to 15:40 min/mile between the 3rd and 5th mile splits. This strategic upturn in speed helped her gain positions, moving up to 9700 in overall rankings and 1465 in her division. As Coral approached the latter part of the course, challenges emerged during the 6th and 7th miles, where there was a gradual slowdown with splite paces of 19:16 and 22:25 min/mile, respectively. Her overall time was 2:17:28, placing her 2294 in the F30-39 division. Continued focus on endurance in the final segments and maintaining consistent splits can enhance future race outcomes.
