Strategic Finish with a Strong Last Mile Magi Cordova completed the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K with a total time of 3:52:31, covering a distance of 7.45 miles. Her overall pace was 31:12 minutes per mile. Impressively, the last two splits at mile 6 and mile 7 were notably expedited, with times of 10:44 and 10:58 per mile, respectively, despite earlier slower pacesshowing an effective surge at the end of her race. Initially, Magi's mile 1 pace was 22:47, followed by a progressive slackening, especially notable from mile 3's time of 52:37, coinciding with Hayes Hill, which suggests a struggle with gradients at that point. Despite this challenge, her places across categories improved by the finish. As a member of the Fresno beer runners team, Magi effectively managed her race to finish amid 24,523 participants, showcasing a commendable finish strategy. Going forward, focusing on the middle miles could enhance overall performance further.
