Consistent Start, Strong Finish Grace Hoffmann from San Luis Obispo began her race with steady pacing, maintaining a consistent 13:21 min/mile for the first two miles. This strategy positioned her well at 293rd in her gender category. A challenging stretch occurred between the 2.2 and 2.7-mile mark with significant pace drop to 16:12 min/mile but gaining 71 places overall as a result of maintaining resilience through that particular segment. In the final miles, Grace showcased significant gains with impressive splits of 11:07 and 10:58 min/mile, finishing with an overall pace of 14:57 min/mile. This pace helped improve her standing to finish 814th out of 1839 participants and 403rd among females. For future races, maintaining that late-race speed throughout could further propel her performance. Competing as part of "The Hungriest Caterpillar," she demonstrated strong ability to rally and finish well.
