Strong Finish with Negative Split Recovery Angelica Pelcastre's performance at the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K demonstrated solid pacing with strategic recovery. Starting with a consistent pace of 10:36 min/mile, she maintained close to her initial rhythm, registering a slight improvement to 10:21 min/mile on the second mile. Hayes Hill presented the steepest challenge, shifting her pace to 12:05 min/mile. Notably, she improved her placement here, advancing to 197th in her division as others struggled more. Post-hill, Angelica managed a constructive negative split recovery. Her speed improved significantly from a 11:42 min/mile in the fourth mile to 9:48 min/mile at the sixth mile. This enabled her to regain ground, finishing with a respectable average pace of 10:40 min/mile. She completed the race as part of Team Science, securing 344th in the F20-29 division.
