Steady Improvement with Strong Finish Angelica Pelcastre demonstrated remarkable consistency and determination throughout the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K event. Her pacing strategy paid off as her split times showed improvement in the latter parts. Starting with a 10:36 min/mile pace for the first mile, Angelica managed to enhance her performance mid-race despite facing the steep Hayes Hill section. Her split pace on Hill was 12:05 min/mile, affecting her overall speed at the third mile. Impressively, she rebounded with a 9:48 min/mile pace by the sixth mile. Angelica's ability to quicken her pace in the last two miles was notable, finishing with a 9:43 min/mile on the final split.
