Consistent Effort with Progressive Pacing Gains Melissa demonstrated perseverance and steady pacing in the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K. Her average pace was 16:24 min/mile, covering 7.45 miles in 2:02:14. A commendable improvement can be observed from miles 1 and 2 with a marked pace adjustment, moving from 14:14 min/mile to 15:49 min/mile. The climb on Hayes Hill affected the pace at miles 3 and 4, with paces at 18:58 min/mile and 22:05 min/mile respectively, but she regained momentum thereafter. Between miles 5 and 7, Melissa significantly improved her pace each mile, concluding with her fastest mile at 13:03 min/mile. Notably, she moved up the ranks, showing a positive placement shift from 11,706 to 9,571 in overall standings. Continuing a focus on maintaining early mile paces could further enhance outcomes. Her placement within her division and gender shows competitive standing among peers. Great performance attending as part of the Slow Runners Club.
