Steady Performance with Standout Middle Segment Alan Truong participated in the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K as part of the team "It's A Lot Of K's," completing the event in 2:36:04 with an average pace of 20:57 min/mile. Notably, his split times indicate a strong start, with the first mile at a 14:10 min/mile pace. From miles 1 to 2, his split slowed to a 18:57 min/mile pace, reaching a 19:05 min/mile pace in the third mile, which covered the climb up Hayes Hill. Of particular interest was the improvement in mile 6 with a 15:15 min/mile, demonstrating an ability to pick up the pace even after the challenging ascent earlier on. Although there was some pace reduction towards the end, with a 26:43 min/mile in the final mile, maintaining strong momentum in the middle of the race is commendable. In future races, working on maintaining that middle pace towards the end could be beneficial.
