Consistent Pacing with Notable Mid-Race Surge Jeff showcased a steady start with identical pacing for the first two miles at 17:47 min/mile. He maintained this stable pace and experienced a decrease in pace during the notoriously steep Hayes Hill between miles 2 and 3, reaching a 20:35 min/mile split. This affected his overall elapsed place positively from 13,455 to 10,238. After cresting the hill, Jeff settled into a consistent rhythm with splits around 19:28 min/mile for miles 4 and 5 before finding another gear for mile 6, resulting in a 17:55 split.
