Steady Start with Strong Finish Jessica Iwu, running in the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K, displayed a consistent pace during the initial part of the race, maintaining a pace of 15:48 min/mile for both the first and second miles. The most significant challenge appeared during the section of Hayes Hill between miles 2 and 3, where the split pace slowed to 18:59 min/mile. However, Jessica showed resilience by improving her pace significantly in the latter part of the race. Notably, from the fifth mile, she increased her speed markedly, achieving her fastest split of 12:35 min/mile in the final mile. Overall, her finishing time was 2:01:57 with an average pace of 16:22 min/mile over a total race distance of 7.45 miles. Jessica ended strong, moving up in her division to 1971st place by the finish. Focus on managing pace through challenging sections and maintaining that closing speed through the whole race could further improve her results.
