Persistent Progress Till the Finish Line Jessica Iwu maintained a steady pace throughout the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K. She started the race with consistent splits of 15:48 min/mile for the first two miles. Hayes Hill, known for its steepness, did impact her pace with a split of 18:59 min/mile for mile three, but she regained some momentum afterward. The final miles showed improvement in her pace, with a notable 12:35 min/mile during mile seven, her fastest of the race. This strong finish helped Jessica improve her standings, placing in the top half of her division, F30-39, and completing the race with an overall pace of 16:22 min/mile. As a member of the Slow Runners Club, Jessica exhibited endurance and determination that outshined many competitors. Continuing to address pacing at inclined sections could further enhance her performance in future races.
