Steady Start with Strong Finish Lauryn Bigelow from San Francisco showed great consistency during the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K race. Her initial splits of 15:41 min/mile for the first two miles demonstrated a solid start, with consistent pacing reflected in her time of 31:21 for the first two miles. Notably, although Hayes Hill slowed her pace to 20:11 and 20:53 min/mile in the third and fourth miles, she skillfully maintained her momentum. Lauryn's pace picked up significantly in the later stages of the race, specifically in the sixth and seventh miles where she achieved 12:48 and 13:02 min/mile splits. Her capacity to quicken her pace after tackling Hayes Hill is commendable and reflects strategic endurance. She completed the 12K course in 2:01:51, with an average pace of 16:21 min/mile. Overall, Lauryn performed with aptitude and maintained a commendable position in the Slow Runners Club team.
