Gaining Momentum Mid-Race Tia Santos had an impressive performance during the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K. Starting steadily with a 14:14 min/mile pace, she picked up speed in the second mile to 12:58 min/mile, maintaining a good flow. Notably, at mile 2, Tia improved her division ranking significantly from 1248 to 822, particularly impressive given the steep Hayes Hill between miles 2.2 and 2.7. While her pace varied slightly throughout the race, Tia finished strong with her best split pace of 11:42 min/mile in the seventh mile. She successfully maintained her placement at 6558th overall in the later stages. Finishing with an overall pace of 14:01 min/mile, Tia ended the race with an official time of 1:44:30. Tia's ability to quicken her pace in the final miles illustrates her potential for even faster performances. Increasing consistency could further enhance her future race results.
